As a big fan of ROME and Deadwood, I figured if HBO took a shine to it, it may have enough substance for me to enjoy. But I read in one of your other comments how it was better than Twilight. If there was one downside to the series was that I couldn't help but draw comparisons to Twilight, which I hadn't seen but still. It was enough to give the whole thing a sour taste. Oh man, I've avoided shameful fluff novels like the plague most of my life, but one of my friends just reads them by the ton, and she got me hooked on a vampire series that sounds EXACTLY like that. I read straight through all of them and then had to read some Oscar Wilde to remind myself books aren't really like that, lmao. But once in a while, they're just a little bit fun to breeze through. Hahah.
