Friday /3pm
I’ve been suffering from slight meglomania lately. I’ve put a temporary pause on my clothing sprees and instead found myself spending more money than ever…on makeup. So these days I’ve been haunting Walgreens (yeah, well its cheap okay?) and finally picked up these ecotools brushes.
They are amazing beyond compare. Not only are the brushes super soft, cheap, and high quality, but they’re also awesome for the environment. Honestly, I don’t see myself shelling out the $28 dollers MAC brushes cost. Or even $16 for a dinky Sephora one.
I sound a bit like a commercial, don’t I?

I didn't include the handles in the shot because it looked more awesome close up, but they're made out of bamboo.
This morning, even though it was the first day of spring break, I crawled out of bed at 9am so Allie and I could go prom shoes shopping. Apparently there’s this warehouse that sells shoes really cheap the next city over. (Do keep in mind that this being California, the next “city” is essentially bordering the one I live in). And my, was it actually a warehouse.
We went through this building to the back, this huge storage place filled from ground to ceiling (well, halfway to the ceiling) with giant cardboard boxes. There were maybe 4 or 5 rows with a mess of shoes displayed and a huge crowd of people. We pushed our way to the back where the dress shoes were where there was also considerably less people and just browsed.
Apparently everything’s overstock from Baby Phat or something, because most of the shoes were these gaudy silver or gold monstrosities with nothing in my size. Also, my dress is red, so…
If I loved or wore sneakers (Converse/Vans/Adidas/etc.) I would probably have had a shoegasm there, since the bulk of ther merchandise was that. At $20-$25 per pair of those, I could definitely see the attraction. Too bad the only shoes I remotely liked were these Loubiton knock-offs (by you guessed it, Baby Phat).
Allie was going to get these slingbacks, but after standing 20 minutes in a line filled with people carting boxes filled with shoes, we gave up and went to breakfast. However, before pulling out of the parking lot, Allie’s mom did buy a sack of oranges and two mangos from an old guy in a pickup.
If anyone wants to know the location of this uncharted warehouse, just send me a message and I’ll reply as soon as I find out the actual address.
In other news, there has been rain, rain, and more rain. Just when I was ready and dressed and made-up for summer too! My two days of real spring got cut short and it poured poured poured instead. Apparently, all kinds of weird things happen when I’m with Allie – eg, yesterday we locked ourselves (with all our bags) out of her house sans keys. She had the foresight to grab an umbrella before we headed out, but a few minutes later we realized that the said umbrella was completely broken.
We ran to Macdonalds and waited out for Cynthia to come rescue us. Yes, we did eat while we waited, since I actually like Macdonalds and am not afraid to admit it. Though maybe that’s why I’ve gained another 3 pounds. Sad, sad.
