Why yes, this is another pointless post that’s not about me.
After Neil Gaiman, there is Joss Whedon. For those of you who don’t know me, Neil Gaiman is one of the best things about living on planet Earth. But this is not about Neil Gaiman, even though I’ve typed his name 3 times in just as many sentences. Anywho, Joss Whedon and Dollhouse. (Unfortunately, Whedon’s not “pretty” enough to make it on here as a picture.) Now without further ado:
What is Dollhouse?
Dollhouse is the most amazing show every (and it debuted Feb. 13th!). The premise is the existence of human Dolls, who are implanted with false memories and skills for various missions and tasks as a part of an organization that employs mind-wiped DNA-altered humans. When they are not ‘at work’ they are living in a real life Dollhouse which gives the show the name. One of those mind-wiped humans, a young woman named Echo, is slowly starting to become aware of herself and what’s going on – all the while somebody on the outside is trying to bring the Dollhouse down while getting closer to Echo – possibly not aware that she is one of the Dolls he’s after.
It stars Eliza Dushku, who actually worked with Whedon as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. No wonder I kept thinking she was so familiar. Granted, her range of expressions and the slight pout continually reminds me of Sarah Michelle Gellar. This is not a bad thing.

This is my favorite outfit from the entire set; if it weren't for the plunging!neckline, I'd call it demure. As it is, it's a lovely juxtaposition of just that - demurely daring. Still NYLON.
One of my favorite things about the show (and it’s plot) is how many costume changes and character changes Echo has to go through. It’s almost Barbie-like in following its premise, only appealing for a more mature audience. Heck – what am I talking about? The Barbie show at fashion week had my eyes glued!

I couldn't find the screenshot with her jacket off, but that's the kind of pencil skirt I love: super high-waisted. I have maybe 2 black pencil skirts and I don't get to wear them enough (ep1).

Dollhouse features a very mixed cast; in the 5 seconds she was in the first episode, I loved Dichen Lachman. Promotional Photo.
Gah – I’ve been watching too much TV. I’m behind on most of my shows, but what with Leverage, Heroes (yeah, I know), Skins, Fringe, Chuck, and now Dollhouse. Yep. So behind on Gossip Girl.
Besides Gossip Girl, the TV shows you watch seem to each be titled a single, mysterious word. A trend?!
One world titles are so much catchier (and occult) and tend to last longer. Mwahahaha. Since Pushing Daisies got canceled, True Blood got boring, and the rest of the mindless rich-people shows make me cross-eyed in the bad way. So yes, trendage!
Ooo this seems like a really cool show. And of course I can’t resist anything that incorporates multiple costume changes *cough* gossip girl!
Aaah, I want that show to air in Norway! I was a mad fan of Buffy and loved Eliza Dushku as Faith, haha.

The concept of Dollhouse sounds rather fascinatingly different. Too bad I don’t think it airs in Australia, seeing as I think it’s still a new show even to America? Then again, it’s probably a better thing, ’cause I find myself quite swamped with House and Scrubs (yay, med shows!)
Only one episode’s aired so far, and it is fascinating. House is wonderful too, but I don’t follow it anymore since they had that big firing things. Medical dramas need comedy to make them bearable, don’t you think?
